Uninstalling Mods and cleaning up leftovers

How the two uninstall options differ, what happens when other Mods depend on a Mod, and which files are reclaimed.

User guideLegacy and EnhancedLast updated October 7, 2026

1. Uninstall options

Open the menu of the Mod in Mod Management and choose Uninstall. The client offers two options:

  • Uninstall only: removes the files written into the game folder and keeps the downloaded installation files and the installation record.
  • Uninstall and delete: removes the game files and also deletes the downloaded files and records.

Both options remove files entry by entry using the installation record (receipt) and never touch files belonging to other Mods.

2. Dependencies and shared files

  • If another Mod depends on this one, the client blocks the uninstall and names the Mods that have to be removed first.
  • If part of an environment is still used by other Mods, the client keeps the shared files and explains why.
  • Entries written into dlclist.xml, for example for add-on vehicles, are removed precisely while entries belonging to other Mods stay untouched.

3. What gets reclaimed

Uninstall reclaims:

  • Files written into the game folder and the documents folder.
  • Runtime artifacts created by the Mod (script logs, framework cache folders and similar).
  • The client's own installation receipts and installation plan records.

After the uninstall finishes, the Mod disappears from the Mod Management list. To use it again, install it from the Mod Market.

4. When the game folder has been changed

If files in the game folder were deleted or modified by hand, the client marks the Mod as Reinstall required after the next refresh and offers a repair action. Repairing runs the installation again and reuses the files that were already downloaded.
