"GTAV Mod Manager" has been used as a name by more than one tool. This article explains what the official client is, where to get it, and how to tell it apart from same-named tools.
1. What the official client is
It targets Steam copies of GTA V on Windows and supports both the Legacy and Enhanced editions. It is more than a Mod installer:
- Mod downloads built in: browse and get Mods in the client's Mod Market, instead of hunting for files on other sites first.
- Automatic checks: the client verifies your game version and required components before installing and tells you what is missing.
- One-click install and one place to manage: downloading, installing, enabling, disabling and uninstalling all happen in the client, with no manual editing of the game folder.
2. The official client is published only from the official site
The client is distributed only from gtamod.site; we do not publish installers on third-party Mod sites or file-sharing drives. Use the download button on the official home page.
3. Differences from same-named tools
- GTAV Mod Manager by Bilago: a same-named tool published on GTA5-Mods.com and Uptodown between 2015 and 2017. Unrelated to this project.
- GTAV Mods Manager by SpaceSquare: an open-source project on GitHub. Unrelated to this project.
The names are similar, but the tools and their distribution channels are not. The test is simple: only downloads published from gtamod.site are the official build of this project.
