Game crashes after installing mods: a step-by-step checklist

Crashes usually come from the most recent mod, a prerequisite mismatch or a replacement conflict. Work through this list to find it fast.

TroubleshootingLegacy and EnhancedLast updated October 10, 2026

Nine out of ten crashes come from whatever you installed last. Work through this list:

1. Bisect (fastest)

Disable the most recently installed mod in Mod Management and launch. Fixed → that was it. Still crashing → disable the previous one, and so on.

2. Check prerequisites

  • Is the environment pack installed and enabled? Missing prerequisites are the top cause
  • After switching editions (Legacy ↔ Enhanced), did you install the matching environment pack?

3. Check the edition

A Legacy replacement pack inside Enhanced will crash every time. Compare the edition badge on the market entry before installing.

4. Check replacement conflicts

Two mods replacing the same car or gun — keep only one (see the conflict article).

5. Check config mods

Only one gameconfig / packfile mod may be active at a time.

6. Still crashing?

Send us, via Help → Contact us: the mods installed or removed most recently, their versions, and when it crashes (on launch, loading a save, or after teleporting), together with the diagnostics. We will pinpoint it.
